Aueršperk Castle

The Aueršperk Castle is an old castle ruin towering above the river Bystřice, which flows around it from 3 sides. It is located between the villages of Vír and Dvořiště in the specified area of ​​Dvořiště near Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. Older names of the castle were also Auršperk, Auersperg, Ušperk and Ungersberg. A long rocky bank, surrounded on three sides by the river Bystřička (left bank), protrudes from the plain between Dvořiště and Hrdá Ves (part of Vír). It was chosen for building a small castle. The ridge was dug across a deep moat, which winds around the entire castle grounds. A massive rampart was built of selected clay.
